The installation instructions call 32003796-001 a cover plate used to cover marks left on the wall by the old thermostat. They say it can be used with VisionPRO TH8000 series thermostats. This page already describes it as a Honeywell wallplate cover for all TH8000 series thermostats, an accessory, Premier White, 7 7/8 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches tall.
The instruction drawing labels 7-7/8 (200) and 5-1/2 (140), and also shows 3-5/16 (84). Mounting steps are to use the cover plate to mark and drill holes and install anchors if needed, pull the wire through the cover plate and the thermostat wallplate opening, align the cover plate and wallplate, and insert, level, and tighten the screws included with the thermostat. The sheet says the installer must be a trained, experienced service technician and to disconnect power before starting. The figure shows the cover plate between the wall and the TH8000 subbase.
