OEM HVAC Control Boards

Vtronix designs and manufactures HVAC electronic controls, control boards, and thermostats. OEM HVAC control boards, as listed here, are the catalog boards on Control Boards whose sheets say they are factory installed or that OEM modifications are available, the heat and fan boards described for heating equipment, and the ECM motor controllers. When an off-the-shelf board does not fit, a custom build follows the steps on the factory page. That process is also written up as custom control solutions. The longer board catalog is the control system for HVAC page.

The company states that it meets ISO, UL, CSA, and CE. Inspection of incoming parts continues through 100 percent in-circuit, functional, and automatic optical inspection testing. The production line is in an electrostatically controlled, fully air conditioned facility. Finished product is inventoried and distributed from the warehouse in Miami Gardens, Florida. No price is printed on a product page.

OEM and factory-installed boards

R100A is an air-conditioning control board with high-pressure and low-pressure switch inputs. The sheet lists LED status lights, freeze protection, high-pressure and low-pressure safety cutout, an adjustable delay on make of 0.03 to 10 minutes, a 3 minute delay on break for compressor protection, an adjustable 10 to 90 second post purge, lockout mode, test mode, and an alarm relay. Operating voltage is 18 to 30 Vac. The sheet says OEM custom modifications are available. That sentence is the published note about changes. It does not list which circuits can be changed.

R200A/S3 is a microprocessor board for a hot water or electric heat air handler. A jumper selects the heat type. Electric heat controls a line-voltage fan or a low-voltage ECM motor. Hot water adds a pump, a 24 Vac isolation valve, and a dry contact for a water heater. Series 3 adds relay RLY4, an aquastat input, and a test connection. The sheet says the board must be factory installed inside the equipment. Electric-heat timing keeps the blower on while the EH signal is energized, then runs a 45 second blower-off delay after G. Line voltage is 120 to 240 Vac, 50/60 Hz. The sheet says the board is tested to UL 873. Size is 7.00 by 2.35 by 1.65 inches.

R201 is a two-speed AHU control board for a combo air handler. It provides 2-speed line-voltage fan control, line-voltage water-pump control, 24 Vac control of an isolation valve, and a dry switching relay for a water heater. A flashing green LED means the microprocessor is operating. The sheet says the board must be factory installed inside the equipment. Heating uses a 90 second blower-on delay and a 20 second blower-off delay. Optional inputs cover freeze protection below 40 degrees, a heater booster that forces high speed, and a priority input. Line voltage is 120 Vac, 50/60 Hz. Fan outputs are 16 A resistive and the pump output is 5 A resistive. The sheet says the board is tested to UL 873.

Heat boards and fan controls

R502 is a heater timing board. The specification describes a heater delay timer that controls a line-voltage heater from a thermistor. It accumulates the time the thermistor is between LoTemp and HiTemp, with 25 F and 40 F given as the example, and energizes the relay when that time reaches a preset of 0, 3, 6, or 12 hours. The board comes with a 10K ohm thermistor on a 3 foot lead. Input is a nominal 24 Vac, with an 18 to 30 Vac operating range, and outputs are 12 FLA (30 LRA) at 240 Vac.

R60A is a one-speed electronic fan board for a line-voltage fan in air-conditioning and heating systems. Timing is a fixed 30 second fan on delay and a fixed 30 second post fan off delay after G turns off. The page states a 2.5 by 3 inch size. Input is a nominal 24 Vac, with an 18 to 30 Vac operating range, a normally open contact of 20 A resistive, and a normally closed contact of 10 A resistive. R60B-45/S2 is a one-speed fan board for a line-voltage fan in air-conditioning and heating systems, with a 1 second fan on delay and a 45 second post fan off delay. CBX99100 is a one-speed fan-off delay board for a line-voltage fan motor in air-conditioning and heating systems, with no fan on delay and a fixed 90 second off delay after G turns off. Fan outputs on that sheet are 12 FLA (30 LRA) at 240 Vac.

CBX02003 is a fan blower post-purge time delay. On a call at the G terminal, a 7 second delay on make begins, then the control energizes the blower. When G is removed, the blower stays on for 65 seconds and then shuts off. Control voltage is 18 to 30 Vac at 50/60 Hz. The output is an SPST normally open relay rated 25 amps at 240 Vac. The sheet says the control replaces Goodman PCBFM 103. R85A-001 is a UL approved 3-speed fan board with 24 V input, 120-277 V, and 11 A fan control.

The word furnace appears on two thermostat pages, not on a control-board title. The installation guide for TH1110DH1003 lists high-efficiency furnaces among the system types for that 1 Heat/1 Cool group, together with gas, oil, or electric heat with air conditioning. The installation guide for TH1110DV1009 lists the same furnace wording for the TH2110DV/TH1110DV pair. Those pages are thermostats. They are not OEM control boards.

ECM motor controllers

CB600V is a thermostat interface board for an ECM motor. The page does not add a voltage, a timing, or a connector list beyond that sentence. R650 is an ECM motor control. The flyer linked on that page covers ECM motor interface boards R600 and R650. It says the boards convert thermostat inputs and field-selectable CFM settings into signals used by the ECM motor. R600 features on the flyer include an ECM motor connector, a CFM LED that flashes once per 100 CFM, fan-speed selectable jumpers, and quick connects labeled R, C, EM, W1, O, Y2, Y1, and G. The R650 section says the R650 has those features except the terminal block, and that it adds a W2 quick connect and LED, a HUM quick connect, and a field-selectable dehumidification jumper. There is no separate R600 product page.

EW40030 is a wire kit for an ECM motor with a 30 inch line-volt cable. EW40040 is the wire kit with a 40 inch line-volt cable. On R200A/S3, the electric-heat setting can control a low-voltage ECM motor as well as a line-voltage fan.

Custom builds

The factory page says that when an off-the-shelf product does not fit the application, Vtronix can help find a solution. The five steps are application, specification, design and test, production, and quality control. Application starts by understanding the environment. An engineering specification is developed and often iterated with engineering and factory personnel. Before production, products are tested in the factory and in application testing in the United States. When a project requires them, UL, CSA, or ETL listings and FCC and CE approvals are completed. Production is inventoried and distributed from the warehouse in Miami Gardens, Florida. Product liability insurance is carried for customers. Returns are analyzed locally, and regular reviews are held with the factory.

Stated strengths are product design to meet customer needs, short lead times, reasonable prices with consistent quality, and dedicated pre-sales and after-sales support.
