Control System for HVAC
Vtronix designs and manufactures HVAC electronic controls, control boards, and thermostats. A control system for HVAC, as listed here, is the set of boards and temperature controls that run air handlers, fans, heaters, chillers, and related equipment. The company states that it meets ISO, UL, CSA, and CE. Inspection of incoming parts continues through 100 percent in-circuit, functional, and automatic optical inspection testing.
When an off-the-shelf product does not fit, the factory page says Vtronix can help find a solution. Work follows application, specification, design and test, production, and quality control. Application starts by understanding the environment. An engineering specification is developed and often iterated with engineering and factory personnel for cost and performance. Before production, products are tested in the factory and in application testing in the United States. When a project requires them, UL, CSA, or ETL listings and FCC and CE approvals are completed. Finished product is inventoried and distributed from the warehouse in Miami Gardens, Florida. Product liability insurance is carried for customers. Returns are analyzed locally, and regular reviews are held with the factory.
Stated strengths are product design to meet customer needs, short lead times, reasonable prices with consistent quality, and dedicated pre-sales and after-sales support. Air handler boards
R200A/S3 is a microprocessor board for a hot water or electric heat air handler. A jumper selects the heat type. Electric heat controls a line-voltage fan or a low-voltage ECM motor. Hot water adds a pump, a 24 Vac isolation valve, and a dry contact for a water heater. Series 3 adds relay RLY4, an aquastat input, and a test connection. The board must be factory installed inside the equipment. Electric-heat timing keeps the blower on while the EH signal is energized, then runs a 45 second blower-off delay after G. Hot-water timing runs the pump four times daily for 60 seconds, preheats for 60 seconds before the blower when the aquastat jumper is off, and keeps a 30 second blower-off delay after heat. Optional freeze protection energizes the pump below 40 degrees. Line voltage is 120 to 240 Vac, 50/60 Hz. The sheet says the board is tested to UL 873. Size is 7.00 by 2.35 by 1.65 inches.
R201 is a two-speed AHU control board for a combo air handler. It provides 2-speed line-voltage fan control, line-voltage water-pump control, 24 Vac control of an isolation valve, and a dry switching relay for a water heater. A flashing green LED means the microprocessor is operating. The board must be factory installed inside the equipment. Heating uses a 90 second blower-on delay and a 20 second blower-off delay. Cooling uses high blower speed and a 45 second off delay. Optional inputs cover freeze protection below 40 degrees, a heater booster that forces high speed, and a priority input. Line voltage is 120 Vac, 50/60 Hz. Fan outputs are 16 A resistive and the pump output is 5 A resistive. The sheet says the board is tested to UL 873. Size is 6.85 by 2.40 by 1.65 inches.
Fan, compressor, and heater boards
R85A-001 is a UL approved 3-speed fan board with 24 V input, 120-277 V, and 11 A fan control. R60A is a fan delay board with a 30 second on delay, a 30 second off delay, and a 2.5 by 3 inch size. Its sheet lists a nominal 24 Vac input, an 18 to 30 Vac operating range, a 20 A resistive normally open contact, and a 10 A resistive normally closed contact. R60B-45/S2 has a 1 second on delay, a 45 second off delay, and a 2.5 by 2.5 inch board. Fan outputs on that sheet are 12 FLA (30 LRA) at 240 Vac. R60BLEADS is the three-lead wire harness for that board, in green, blue, and red, 12.00 inches long. R60B-45/S2-R60BLEADS is the board plus that harness.
CBX02003 is a fan blower post-purge time delay of 65 seconds. The linked sheet also lists a 7 second on delay, fuse-protected control voltage of 18 to 30 Vac at 50/60 Hz, and an SPST normally open relay rated 25 amps at 240 Vac. CBX99100 is a one-speed fan-off delay board with no fan on delay and a fixed 90 second off delay after G turns off. Input is 24 Vac, operating range is 18 to 30 Vac, and fan outputs are 12 FLA (30 LRA) at 240 Vac. PCB size is 2.5 by 2.5 inches. R502 is a heater timing board that controls a line-voltage heater from a thermistor. Hour presets are 0, 3, 6, or 12. The board includes a 10K ohm thermistor on a 3 foot lead. Input is 24 Vac and outputs are 12 FLA (30 LRA) at 240 Vac.
R100A is an air-conditioning control board with high-pressure and low-pressure switch inputs. The sheet lists freeze protection, an adjustable delay on make of 0.03 to 10 minutes, a 3 minute compressor delay on break, and a post purge adjustable from 10 to 90 seconds. Operating voltage is 18 to 30 Vac. The blower relay is SPDT, 50 LRA / 16 FLA at 120 Vac. R401 is a configurable microprocessor board for water source heat pumps. Features listed on its page include anti-short cycle protection, high- and low-pressure cutouts, and water-coil and air-coil low temperature cut-out. Operating environment is -20 F to 140 F. RAB-A24.11BE3 is a magnetic starter, 220 V. W100 is a chiller controller. The manual linked from that page describes a microprocessor chiller control with a main board, up to two control panels, and sensors for water out and two freeze circuits.
ECM motor boards and temperature controls
CB600V is a thermostat interface board for an ECM motor. R650 is an ECM motor interface. The flyer linked on that page says the board converts thermostat inputs and field-selectable CFM settings into signals used by the ECM motor, and that the R650 adds a W2 quick connect and LED, a HUM quick connect, and a field-selectable dehumidification jumper. EW40030 and EW40040 are wire kits for an ECM motor, with a 30 inch line-volt cable and a 40 inch line-volt cable.
The Temperature Controls list sits beside the boards. T775A2009 is an electronic temperature controller with 1 temperature input, 1 SPDT relay, and 1 sensor included, in a NEMA 1 enclosure. The instructions say each T775A/B/M controller is an operating control, not a limit or safety control, and that all models include a digital input for a disable or setback option. AHU Control is phase monitoring and a star-delta motor starter. FT101 is a freezer thermostat with fan, defrost, and compressor control. MSI is master-slave network control of up to 64 air-conditioning units. Outdoor Control is an outdoor control for a compressor. TC102 is a storage tank controller with an input for heat/cool and 2 stage outputs. W110 is lead-lag control of 2 air-conditioning units with a high temperature sensor. Zone Control II controls up to 4 dampers.
